The Palatka Blue Crab Festival marks its 25th year in 2013, and it’s the final authentic Florida seafood festival of the season — until November.

The popular four-day Memorial Day Weekend event features lots of seafood, live entertainment, arts and crafts, beauty pageant, a seafood cook-off, parade, kids rides and carnival rides for the entire family in downtown Palatka along the banks of the St. John’s River southwest of St. Augustine.

Admission and parking is free, although you’ll have to pay for carnival rides, which include the CounterPoint Gondola.  Wrist bands are $20 all day, or 15 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., and $15 from 4 p.m. until Midnight.  Helicopter rides will be available for $10 per person (weather permitting).

The Seafood Cookoff will take place Sunday (26th), and the Memorial Day Parade takes place on Monday (27th).

There will be free live entertainment for all four days of the festival.
