Deer nursing her young at Myakka River State Park

On my early-morning bike ride, I spotted a doe with her fawns in a small meadow off the main park road. There was total silence, so I stopped the bike and quietly watched. Notice the lack of underbrush. Several areas of the park are plagued by wild hogs that tear up the low-lying scrub and eat the roots. (Photo by Bob Rountree)
