It’s spring. Yes, the azaleas and camelias start blooming in February, and they’re spectacular in many central and northern Florida gardens. Consider a visit to the Harry P. Leu Gardens in Orlando, the Kanapaha Botanical Gardens in Gainesville, the Alfred P. Maclay Gardens State Park in Tallahassee or Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales. Ravine Gardens State Park in Palatka has 100,000 flowering shrubs and trees and during their “Azalea Days,” rangers and volunteers are leading walking tours on weekends in February. Learn more.
Free Ride into the Everglades
Free Homestead trolley gives you free entrance to Everglades National Park. The trolley runs every winter weekend through April 12, 2020. Riders enter free, saving the $35 park admission. Learn more.

Artfest Fort Myers, Jan. 31- Feb. 2, 2020, Fort Myers
The free festival takes place on the waterfront in historic downtown Fort Myers and features a juried exhibition of 290 fine artists from all over the country. Along with the art, the festival features interactive art exhibits, children’s activities, live music, and demonstrations
Feb. 1, 2020. Lakeport Sour Orange Festival. Sour orange trees grow wild all over Florida. This festival features the celebrated “Sour Orange Dessert Contest,” in which residents and visitors enter desserts using the wild oranges which give the festival its name. Held on the first Saturday every year. Lakeport.
Mount Dora Arts Festival, Feb. 1-2, 2020, Mount Dora

Feb. 1, 2020. DeLand Craft Beer Festival. This year’s 11th annual event includes live music, food trucks and a rare & vintage tasting tent along with over 400 beers! General Admission: $35 Advance Tickets – includes access to general admission footprint.
Feb. 1, 2020 WHO Festival (Wildlife, Heritage, Outdoors), St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge. Family friendly event from 11 am-4 pm. Free face painting, Wild Trail hikes, wagon tours, lighthouse tours, outdoor art and wild first aid kits available.

Feb. 7-9, 2020 —Boca Raton Seafood Festival, Mizner Park, Boca Raton. Seafood from Florida coastal waters, music and a small marketplace of arts and crafts. Musical entertainment features rock, jazz, steel pan, Caribbean, R&B and more. Admission $5. 10 am-6 pm both days. Friday, 4 pm-10 pm; Saturday 11am – 10pm; Sunday 11am – 6pm.
Feb. 8, 2020. 4ocean Daytona Beach Community Cleanup Event. Meet south of the pier for beach cleanup featuring the 4ocean Pop-Up Shop & 4ocean Village. 11am to 1pm.
Feb. 8-9, 2020. 20th Annual South Florida Garlic Festival. The best Stinkin’ Party in South Florida. Garlic Fest was created by a small group of Palm Beach County residents looking for a creative way to provide funding for local non-profit organizations in support of arts and education for youth. Feb. 8, 2020. Gamble Jam, Flagler Beach. Acoustic musicians gather at Gamble Rogers State Park on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month in remembrance of renowned Florida folk singer James Gamble Rogers. Park admission, $5 per vehicle.

The Battle of Olustee Civil War Re-Enactment, Feb. 14-16, 2020, Lake City. Florida’s largest Civil War battle is re-enacted with gun smoke, booming cannons and cavalry. More than 250 re-enactors from around the country are expected to participate.

Naples National Art Festival, Feb. 22-23, 2020, Naples
Ranked among the top 25 art festivals in the country, this annual event takes place in scenic Cambier Park and along 8th Street South in downtown Naples.
Feb. 22-23, 2020: Swamp Cabbage Festival, LaBelle. This is the 55th anniversary of this popular event. The 2020 theme is the “Roaring 20s”. Feb. 27-March 8, 2020. Florida Strawberry Festival. The Florida Strawberry Festival in Plant City rivals any state fair anywhere, and the entertainment line-up is extraordinary year after year. The Midway is mind-blowing, but the featured attraction is the strawberry, of course.
