The Bird Walk at Myakka River State Park

The Bird Walk is an ideal venue for observing our feathered friends, especially during the fall and spring migrations. Myakka is the winter haven for hundreds of bird species, as well as a year-round resident population. Among the birds I saw on my May 2012 visit were red-shouldered hawks that acted as if they owned the place. I guess they do! (Photo by Bob Rountree)
