  1. Use the same recipe as for Key Lime pie … 4 or 5 egg yolks, beaten gently with 1 14 oz can of condensed milk and 1/2 to 2/3 cup of juice. Pour into a graham cracker crust, bake 10-15 minutes to set in a 350 oven. Top with egg white meringue if desired and bake at 400 for 10 minutes, watching meringue carefully.

    I don’t know if it’s the authentic recipe, but it sounds like it would be delicious!

    I had a sour orange tree when I first moved to Florida. It was the root stock to which a “better” tree was grafted, but the graft had died and the root taken over. We used the sour oranges like lemons (though they’re not as sour or strong flavored.)

    I don’t know where you’d find sour oranges if you didn’t have a tree.
