It’s the “Off” Season
Summer marks the off-season in the Florida Keys. Rates fall, offering RV campers opportunities not available during prime season.
While some campgrounds have not fully recovered from the destructive 2017 hurricane season, others are back in business and welcoming guests.
The Keys remain popular during the summer months for Floridians who seek to escape the brutal heat and high humidity inland. Ocean breezes make the Keys a bit easier to handle.
Florida Lobster Season is a big draw, and some campgrounds require minimum stays, but for the most part these summer rates hold true until late September and early October. The 2019 lobster mini-season for sport divers is July 24 and 25, and the regular season opens on August 6.
When you go, be sure to bring along Florida Rambler’s Mile-Marker Guide to the Florida Keys
Rates quoted here do not including taxes, fees and add-ons such as dockage, and taxes add up to 12.5% in the Keys.
We are including only nightly rates. Discounts are often available for weekly, monthly and seasonal stays. It’s worth noting that a few campgrounds do not reduce rates during the summer months.
Editor’s Note: This year’s list includes only campgrounds that publicly disclose summer rates. Florida Rambler does not earn commissions or other benefits from these listings. Additionally, we are not connected in any way with campgrounds on this list. In most cases, we do visit the campgrounds before including them.
