Often seen as the incubator for Florida’s craft brewers, the Tampa Bay area has a rich history of unique craft beers and imaginative tap rooms dating back before (and during) Prohibition, more than a hundred years ago. Flying Boat Brewing Company, 1776 11th Ave N, St. Petersburg. Early in the 20th Century, travel between Tampa and St. Petersburg took two hours by steamboat and 12 hours by train. Then came the Flying Boat, which scooted across Tampa Bay in only 23 minutes. Theme beers featured in this brewery and taproom.
