Major League Baseball players report a few days earlier in February 2026 for spring training in Florida because of the World Baseball Classic, which is being played in Miami and Houston from March 4-17.

Teams have added Spring Breakout exhibition games to their schedules this year, pitting young team prospects against each other to see how they measure up in training camp.
Pitchers and catchers report to camp February 9-12, and full squads arrive a few days later. Reporting dates vary, team by team, and many players arrive early to get a jump start in the weight room and other individual needs.
Spring training games in Florida’s Grapefruit League begin on February 21. The regular MLB season opens March 25-26.
Our annual baseball Florida Spring Training Guide is your go-to resource for team schedules, stadium locations, and for building itineraries around things to do, places to stay, and places to go.
Tickets are already on sale for most ball clubs, including single-game sales. Some clubs hold back until season-ticket campaigns are complete. Check individual teams below for specifics.

Tampa Bay Spring Training
New York Yankees — Tampa
George M. Steinbrenner Field, 1 Steinbrenner Drive, Tampa, FL 33614.

Steinbrenner Field, the spring training home of the Yankees, has the same dimensions as Yankee Stadium, down to the inch, made so by “the Boss”, who phoned the Bronx from Tampa during construction in 1996 and instructed an employee run to the outfield wall with a tape measure in the middle of a major storm.
The stadium will once again be the summer home for the Yankees’ class A affiliate, the Tampa Tarpons. Last season, Steinbrenner Field was the home ballpark of the Tampa Bay Rays while the dome over Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg was restored. The Trop will be ready for the Rays in 2026.
